Whether you're looking for a traditional shoulder mount, a pedestal, a life-size presentation, a bear rug or a completely custom display, we'll work with you to create a piece that reflects your trophy and your story.

How to prepare a bear for taxidermy
Caring for Your Bear Before Bringing It to Us Proper care of your bear immediately after the harvest is one of the most important steps in producing a high-quality mount.
Taking a few extra minutes in the field can help protect the hide and ensure the best possible finished product.
Keep the Hide Cool Heat is your bear hide’s biggest enemy.
Once your bear is down, get it cooled as quickly as possible.
Keep the hide out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
If you’re able to transport the bear immediately, keep it cool and get it to your taxidermist as soon as possible.
If You Can’t Get It to Us Immediately If there will be a delay, the bear needs to be properly cared for and frozen.
Keep the bear in a cool location while you prepare it.
Do not leave the carcass sitting in a warm vehicle or enclosed trailer.
If possible, get the hide off the carcass and cooled quickly.
Do not salt a bear hide before bringing it to us unless we have specifically instructed you to do so.
Once the hide is properly removed, fold it flesh-to-flesh, hair-to-hair and place it in a heavy-duty plastic bag before freezing.
Freeze the hide as soon as possible. * Avoid allowing the hide to sit partially frozen or thawed for extended periods.
Be Careful With the Hide When handling your bear, take care not to cut or damage areas that will be important to the finished mount.
Avoid unnecessary cuts through the face, lips, eyelids, ears and other areas that require careful detail work.
When in doubt, leave the hide intact and contact us before making additional cuts.
Don’t Worry If You’re Unsure Every bear and every situation is different.
If you’re not sure how to handle your bear after the harvest, give us a call before you start cutting.
We’d rather walk you through the process than have you accidentally damage an area that could have been preserved.
The better the hide is cared for from the moment of harvest, the better we can make your finished mount.
